Spring Cleaning Fever, Stitchin & Around the Yard

Well spring is here and Spring Cleaning has begun.
All the windows are washed and opened to air out the house and almost everything else has been dusted, scrubbed, vacuumed and fabreezed.
It's looking better, but I don't touch certain places unless I want to hear "What Did You Do With ????" from my DH. So that has to wait until I can get him to sort through his stuff, ie: magazines, papers, catalogs......etc.

My DH has been playin with our Jeep and has added Ventvisors across the top's of the doors and a Roof Rack. I'm still not sure I like the roof rack.

I've been doing some stitchin, but our camera broke so I can't take any pictures, but we will be going shopping on Saturday so we'll get one then, and maybe my piece will be done by then.

A lot of plants are coming up in our planting beds around the yard. We have Hostas, Ferns, Tulips, Grape Hyacinth, Hens & Chicks, Lupine, Crocus and more. Here are a few pictures that I took before the camera died.

Sunday At The Range

We spent several hour on Sunday at the shootin range. I was almost in heaven except it was fairly hot out there and I got a bit of a sunburn. I guess that's just the price you pay for some fun.

Me and my AR15 shootin and hittin the 200, 300, 350 & 400 yard gongs. I have to sit and shoot this since it's too heavy to stand and hold for a long period of time.

DH giving his AR15 some usage and hittin the gongs.

My Friday and Saturday Fun

My DH took a four day weekend so on Friday we headed into town to get our grocery shoppin done, and headed over to the brand new Cabela's that just opened on Thursday 5/15 @ 4:00 pm. DH stopped by there on Thursday but it was jam packed with shoppers. It was better on Friday since we went in the morning, maybe I'll get some pic's of the cool displays they have when everything quites down.

On Saturday it was off to the Pryor Mountains for a little Jeepin time. We got to see some wild turkey's, deer and some rarely seen in the Pryor's, Big Horn Sheep. It was a great day and DH got to wash the Jeep since he's the one that dirtied it up.

"Hope" is finally finished !!

The third time was definitely the charm when it came to stitching the Hope ornament. I changed the fabric from 28ct. Carolina Linen to 28ct. Monaco and it stitched like a breeze.
Here it is before being turned into the Needle Roll ornament.
I used DMC, Kreinik, Mill Hill beads and a thread I hand-dyed myself it is backed with a dark purple satin.
I stitched this in memory of both mine and my husband's father's, and stitched the Cure ornament in memory of my Grandma.

Here it is after being finished. They will be sent off to Donna for her "Stitching for a Cure" tree for the American Cancer Society. Now I need to make one's to hang on our own Christmas tree.

My Fur Babies & The Frogs Have Not Left The Buliding

These are my fur-babies: Cody (German Shepherd), Nicole (Rottweiler) and Jack (Brittany Spaniel) "assuming the position" to be let into house from the back porch. Aren't they just soooo cute.

FROGS
I tried to stitch again on Saturday, but guess what, those frogs were still dancin, tried again on Sunday, another mistake, more ripit, ripit, ripit, thought last night would be the night, oh how wrong I was, must have been some froggie bash goin on at my house.
I think I am just going to scrap this one and start over with a different fabric and let the frogs keep a dancin on the old one.

Frog Day Afternoon & a New JEEP

I thought that I had made a good start on my second ornament for the ACS (American Cancer Society) tree. But I was WRONG! The frogs started hoppin off of their lily pads and tap dancin all over my stitchin. I ripped it all out and started again, their still dancin, ripped it again, man can those frogs dance, ripped it again. If I have to do this one more time I'm getting a gun and having frog legs for dinner. We'll see how it is later this evening, maybe I'll try again.

Yesterday evening my DH came home with a new JEEP. Our other one has hit the 200,000 mile mark and is starting to get fix-it-itus. Mostly just little things but they all add up.

Our New Jeep (It's so bright you gotta wear shades) after my DH took me for a ride on the back roads ( yep, that's MUD):
