More Stitching Finishes

I finished a couple more pieces.
I tried out a skein of Carries I had in my stash and found it to be very moisture un-friendly. Were talking a just barely damp wash cloth and an iron for a total of 5 to 10 seconds to get out a very small crease, and I had color transfer from the thread to my ironing board cover. The piece wasn't even damp from the rag. Yes, I know that their not colorfast, but that was just a bit to much color transfer for my taste.
I've tried WDW & GAST and have never had that problem.

Design: Quaker Pin Pillow
This was a freebie from The Piecemaker website and I modified it quite a lot to make it look like I wanted. It is stitched on 28ct. linen using Carries Creations thread in Teal Mist.
Finished On: 03-12-2010

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just love this saying and the antique look of it. It will be framed at a later date when I find the right frame for the piece.
Design: In Everything Give Thanks
Designer: Sandy Orton of Kooler Design Studio
Stitched on 28ct. Tea Monaco using DMC threads. The overall size of the stitching is only
13 1/8"x 1 5/8"
Thank you so very much for stopping by and leaving behind your thoughts, they mean so very much to me and help to keep me stitching and designing.
Take Care & Happy Stitching Everyone,
Sandy
  4. Hi Sandy Great stitching. That's too bad about the Carrie's. I have lots of it but I've never used any before. I'll have to be extra careful.
  5. Lovely finishes.
    I have stitched some Carrie's and not had a problem with my iron... that I can recall. I'll take note when I finish Stitch or Die and see what happens with some steam. ;)
  9. I am like you I love the Saying To Everything Give Thanks. More people should take the words to heart. I like the heart too, I will remember about the Carries too. Try putting a plan white paper towel on the ironing board.
