Homestead Happenings

Still not feeling crafty, at all.
But I have managed to bake two loves of bread ...

 Cinnamon Raisin Bread

Parmesan Herb Bread (Box mix)

Both were yummy and now I need to buy more raisins and cinnamon so I can keep the big guy happy with his favorite bread.

Our fruit trees are full this year and have Pears and Apples galore.

 Apples

Pears and a German Shepard butt photo bomb.

There will be lots of canning going on in the Fall. Lots of jars of yummy pears, that I can't eat and apple sauce and pie filling that I can eat.

Finally got most of my garden planted this month and it's 90% tomatoes with 80% of those being Roma tomatoes for making Spaghetti Sauce. The other 10% is six bell pepper plants and three cucumbers. I think I need another garden plot in the yard someplace.
I transplanted my Parsley last week, but that didn't go so well, I'm still waiting to see how many will take and start growing I know I lost at least half if not more. Back in April I was super surprised to find that my Garlic Chives had regrown and I've already been able to harvest once and soon will do cutting number two.

I was ecstatic to find that my Blueberry bushes had started to come back. This is one of two that I planted last year the second one only has one little branch that has sprouted new growth, but at least they came back. Maybe I'll be able to get a couple more this year and some blackberries to.

Well .... that's all for now, so until next post ......

Take Care Everyone
Hugs, Sandy

  1. Fresh baked bread sounds delicious. I envy your fruit trees, it's too hot where I live for anything but citrus trees.
