I just learned the hard way that you need to put those homemade Swiffer dusters in a laundry bag to wash them.
I put eight (8) of them in the washer yesterday and found that my washer did not drain, at all. The hubs had to take the back off the washer and remove the pump so he could remove this.
A TWO INCH MASS OF FLANNEL FIBERS!!!
There was no mention of this on the website I got the directions from, so I thought I would pass on the information hoping none of you have the same problem. Just read where someone used Pinking Shears to cut theirs and had few to no strings.
Take Care Everyone
Hugs, Sandy
Thanks for the heads up, Sandy! I haven't made them yet (haven't gotten around to getting the fabric), but thanks for the warning!

Sorry you had to find that out the hard way! I am planning on making some too, but don't have the fabric yet. Thank you for the warning! I will make sure to use pinking shears and buy a laundry bag. I need one anyway.

Thanks for the tip. I love the idea of home made duster.

Oh, gee...I've made 3 rag quilts - I'd better check the filter on my washer!
