Happy Valentines Day

Hello Dear Friends & Followers
I just wanted to wish you all Happy Valentines Day.
May your day be filled with a little love, a little laughter, many warm hugs, and a ton of Chocolate! 💝😍💝

I stitched up this free chart by Loretta Oliver of Stitching the Night Away, but haven't decided if or how I want to finish it. The buttons at the bottom are just a few "what I have on hand" thoughts for the open heart space if I do decide to keep it.

 "February 2011 Valentine"
Stitched on 28 count white evenweave lightly coffee dyed using DMC 115, My very favorite variegated red.

Until next time .......

A Valentine Small

Hey There Everyone, It's been cold here in Montana and we got a foot of that beautiful fluffy white crap early in the week that is turning into brown slush all over town. Luckily the highways that the hubs has to drive 5 days a week are clear.

Well, it's almost February so I thought I would post a Valentine gift for all my stitchin' friends and followers. It should be a fairly quick stitch using a favorite color, a variegated thread, or even with the threads I chose.

I added a small alphabet and numbers if you want to personalize it where the solid lines are.

I designed it with Dusty Rose colors using DMC
150 - solid black circle,
3350 - + (plus symbol),
 3731 - clear heart,
 3733 - x,
 151 - small black dot
(do not stitch the solid lines)

"Valentine's Heart"
41w x 40h
Hope you enjoy the chart.

Happy Valentines Day !!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY !!

I got an early Valentines Day gift on Saturday.

A new Brother 1634D Serger and ....

a bunch of threads to use with it.
He joins my Singer Heritage and my Brother XL-5340.

I have wanted a Serger for years and now I finally have one. Love that now I can serge the edges of my cross stitch fabric and not have it ravel. I tried zigzagging the edges before, but unless I got a real tight zigzag the edges still frayed.
This one can use 3 or 4 threads and came with a Blind Hem foot (don't see me using that one very often) and a Gathering foot which will be nice for making gathered trim. Lots of things for me to learn after I get comfortable with the basics of the machine.

Well that's it for this post, so until next time .......

Valentine Gift From Me to You

Hello All; It is just plain cold outside made worse by all the wind we're getting. The thermometer might say mid 30's but the wind says upper 20's. Mother Nature decided not to be cruel this weekend and kept the snow away, but it's only January and we tend to get snow until April or May.
Hope everyone else is keeping warm in the winter wonderland areas.

Decided to get out the bread maker and use up a couple of boxes of bread mix this weekend, Saturday was Hawaiian Sweet bread and tonight is Sour Dough to go along with Crock pot BBQ ribs, smashed potatoes and corn. Easy dinner is my favorite kind.

Now on to the Valentines Gift.
So here is what I came up with.......
Should be a fairly quick stitch to finish before Valentines Day.

"Love & Hearts"

 "Love & Hearts"

Stitch the whole design or only stitch half the design. Change the colors to fit your idea of Valentines Day. There are so many options to choose from for finishes and colors.

I used to post charts this way, so lets see if I got it right and this still works, if not I'll go back to the easier way that I used on the last two.

As always, if you stitch up this or any of my other free designs I'd love to see a picture. And if you do happen to post a picture of your finished piece it would be appreciated if you could link back to my post so other's know where the design came from.

Well that's it for now, so until I post again.......

A Couple of Stitchy Valentine Finishes

Since it tis the Valentine season, I was inspired to stitch a little more Valentine's Love.

I stitched up the freebie from the Stitcherhood that seems to be popping up on blogs everywhere. I extended the border all the way around and backstitched around the inside. I stitched it on 18ct. Aida hand-dyed by me, using DMC threads. I backed it with the same fabric used in the border and added buttons to complete the look.

This one is for my DH.

Design: "Be My Valentine"
Designer: Sandy In Montana
Stitched on 28ct. Coffee dyed & baked evenweave (I did it) using DMC 115 & L310.
Finished as a small pillow using the mini hearts fabric.

Happy Valentines Day Everyone !!!!
